I have it installed on my MEC 12GA RELOADER. It was stated to be within a 1/10th of a grain but I cannot attain that accuracy consistently. To get it as accurate as possible you have to go up 10 or 15 numbers past where you want to be and walk back down to get as accurate as you can. I have never been able to get consistent. Makes a great shotshell reloader a lot better. Ive had one of these on my 16 ga 600jr for about 2 years and love it ! You do need to tweek it a bit using a good scale but once you get it set, have at it ! Ive just gotten another 600 jr used for 12ga and am ordering a bar for it. Recently was gifted another MEC 600 & will be ordering another charge bar thru BPI. A slight tap or two on the charge bar when dropping components into the device has been excellent, & verified via a scale every 5 to 10 drops. Once dialed in for your desired drop of powder & shot I find this is very consistent. Purchased this in 2014 & have not looked back the fixed charge bar & bushings routine. Consistency drop-to-drop is comparable to standard charge bars, which depend a great deal on the solidity of the bench and consistency of the operators motions. This one is infinitely adjustable, so I can dial in whatever weights I want. I bought this after years of using standard charge bars and bushings because they never dropped the exact charges I was looking for. One of our tech guys is contacting you and we will get you fixed up with a new one. That performance doesn't sound right to us that could be a flawed charge bar. My Dillon 650 has a powder drop in the same design and its accurate within.
I am new to shotgun reloading but I can not beleive that 1 grain differences are a good thing. I am removing it and going back to my RCBS automatic scale so I know the charges amounts are correct. The lead side is fine but the powder is not stable. I tried it out last night and got it all dialed in. I purchased one of these to try out and I am glad I did not buy 3 of them for all my presses.
